Choosing a bike

Choosing a bike is as simple as acknowledging what you will be using it for. For example, if you plan to carry gear and other items on your bike, a cargo bike is a better option than a road bike.

You can choose from many types of bicycles, but for the average person, there are basically three different styles to choose from: mountain bike, hybrid bike, and road bike. When you are about to buy a bicycle, the main thing to consider is what type of terrain you’ll want to use it for.

Mountain Bikes

Mountain bikes are designed for off-road travel. These bikes have knobbly tires and big, wide rims that allow them to travel over loose terrain and climb hills easier. In addition, their suspension forks provide shock absorbers on bumpy roads. Mountain bikes can even be fitted with a rack for carrying gear such as a bike trailer or camping gear.

Road Bikes

Road bikes are a popular choice for recreational use. They have lightweight aluminum frames and regular tires, which allow them to travel faster and get better traction on the road. Road biking is a great way to get in shape, and it’s delightful as well. If you enjoy riding a road bike, you might also consider getting a basket or trailer hitch so you can carry gear with you wherever you go.

Hybrids Bikes

Hybrid bikes are made from a combination of mountain bike technology with features from traditional road bikes. Hybrids have thinner tires than mountain bikes, and they usually come with a wider range of gears. Most hybrids also feature a steel frame, whereas most mountain bikes are made from aluminum. A hybrid bike can give you the best of both worlds because it’s comfortable for long rides, but it also performs well on off-road terrain and can handle small hills without difficulty.

Fat Tire Bikes

Fat tire bikes are famous worldwide because they put more of a knobby aesthetic on the ground. The fat tires on these bikes make it super comfortable to ride, and they can handle varying terrains.
