Best Vanilla Extract in Barbados
Many Bajans enjoy sweet treats. We often flock to our neighborhood bread man for a slice of plain cake. Those who call ourselves bakers, may also find ourselves spending an extra $15 in our monthly food budget to buy vanilla extract for our banana bread and homemade treats. So let’s talk a little bit about the best vanilla extracts in Barbados.
Aromuh Vanilla Extract
I always say “Support Local!” and this is one of the best ways you can do it. Aromuh is a brand that has recently stepped onto the scene, producing extracts of multiple flavors made on our little rock. Aromuh’s Vanilla Extract is powerful, adding a clear smooth note of vanilla to any baked good. These extracts go for the usual $15 but you get double the vanilla extract, with their 60 ml bottles. They can be found in Emerald City or Massy and they will be coming to stores near you.
McCormick Vanilla Extract
McCormick has become an old faithful vanilla extract in Barbados. It flies off the shelves when it is in stock, especially around Christmas time. These 29ml bottles pack a punch with a rich vanilla flavor. They are found in most stores and shops around the island costing you around $17 a bottle. They make delicious baked goods, but unfortunately, they don’t last long if you are an avid baker. Be sure to have money in your budget for 2 of these each month!
Tesco Vanilla Extract
If you are looking for a vanilla extract in Barbados, Tesco also has an option for you. While it flavours your baked goods, the scent of ethanol is a bit strong in comparison to Aromuh and McCormick. You can find it around the island, hovering and a selling price of $12.00 for 60 ml.
Is there another brand of vanilla extract in Barbados?
Sometimes, you may see an unfamiliar vanilla extract label. If you have seen Hy-Top Pure Vanilla Extract or Madecasse Pure Vanilla Extract, you can give them a try too. So far, we have only seen them in A1 Supermarkets.
It’s time to bake!
Whether you like mixing drinks or baking desserts vanilla extract is a core ingredient that you must always have in your kitchen. With the increase in brand diversity and an expansion of vanilla flavours, you have more tools at your disposal to create the cakes and pastries you always wanted.
